CardIndex provides a very flexible way to collect, organize, and retrieve information.
What can I do with CardIndex?
CardIndex is ideally suited to collecting many short notes that range from a sentence to a paragraph
or so in length. Use CardIndex for organizing class or research notes, household information,
recipes, details about collections you own, personal inventories, or any other information you want to
collect and easily retrieve later.
How does it work?
With CardIndex you collect information on cards and then
organize the cards by associating them with categories in indexes that you build. There is no
prescribed organization, you use what works for you.
You retrieve information by clicking on an index category and viewing the cards linked to that
category.
I have a cardfile program but it's hard to find information in it. How is CardIndex any better?
CardIndex uses a different approach to organizing information. With CardIndex the index is separate from the
information. You link information into the index wherever you want it to go. Information can be linked to more than one place
in an index. Indexes can be as simple or as complex as you need, and can be modified, added, or deleted at
any time without affecting your information. You can even have multiple, unrelated, indexes on the same information.
With CardIndex you always put your information where you want it to go. This makes it much easier to
find later when you need it.
Is it easy to use?
We like to think so, but just in case, we've included very complete online help documentation that provides
in-depth information for getting started, complete reference information, and quick refrence information
for when you just need to be remineded.
